My designs are made from so many unique gem and mineral stones that can't be purchased from just any source. Just as diamonds for fine jewelry are found in few locations, I prefer to go to the source for the stones used in Designs by Mona ... the crystal mines! I pick crystals only choosing those that will make beautiful pendants, earrings, and bracelets. Because "cystals in the raw" are only found buried deep in the earth they must be cleaned, cut, polished and carefully mounted.

From "picking" crystals at the mine to creating a finshed piece ready for sale much has to be done. The unique "raw" stones I choose are cleaned in several strong solutions, cleansing any debris which can mar the surface. Then with loving care I patiently cut and polish each stone to maximize the brilliance and light reflection. Finally, after separating by size to match the pendants, earrings and bracelets, I design a special mount to complement each unique gem.

I am a long standing member of a Gem Association and utilize the specialized equipment needed to produce jewelry of this quality and brilliance. The process is a long one and just goes to prove that dedication to your work can really mean the difference between and simple peice and something different and unique.
